The m-tec 330 Pump - Built for Volume and Velocity
Self-levelling compound waits for no one. Once water hits the powder, you have around 15 minutes of workability before the chemical reaction kicks in. If you try to cover a large floor by hand, you’ll inevitably lose the wet edge, resulting in ridges, cold joints, and a failed pour. What’s needed is high-speed pumping to achieve flawless finishes.
At Collie Floor Levelling, we work with compounds every day so we know that delivering a dead-flat surface requires absolute control over the delivery. We don’t leave the mix to chance. Our screeders control the pour using the m-tec 330 pump to guarantee a continuous, precisely hydrated flow that beats the cure every time.
High-Volume Output - How The m-tec 330 Pump Works Fast And Flawlessly
The biggest threat to a floor finish is inconsistency. If one batch is too dry and the next is too wet, the compound won’t level correctly, and you’ll end up with the ugly ridges that form when freshly mixed compound hits a batch that has already started to set. And when you’re racing against a 15-minute cure, you don’t have the luxury of re-mixing a bad batch.
We use the m-tec 330 because it takes the guesswork out of the mixing process. The pump operates like a mobile batching plant, maintaining a constant flow rate that keeps the pour moving as fast as we need it to. It forces the compound through the hose under pressure, which helps break down any dry clumps that a hand-mixer might miss.
This high-speed pumping means we can cover large areas in a single, uninterrupted flow. By the time the chemical reaction starts to stiffen the product, we’ve already spiked the area and moved on, leaving a monolithic slab that is dead-level and ridge-free.
Meeting Tight Site Schedules With The m-tec 330 Pump
If the floor prep is slow or the finish is poor, every subsequent trade gets pushed back. Our goal goes beyond simply pouring floors; we clear the way for the rest of the project. By mechanising the process with the m-tec 330 pump, we work at speed and get off-site faster, leaving a professional-grade surface for the next trade.
Benefits for floor finish installers:
- Immediate Level Accuracy – No feathering required to fix mistakes. The pump finds the low spots and fills them perfectly the first time.
- Better Aesthetics for Thin Finishes – The glass-like finish from a pumped pour is necessary for thin floor coverings like vinyl or resin.
- Reduced Labour Costs – Because the surface is flat and clean, the next trade spends less time on prep and more time on installation.
- Guaranteed Consistency – Every square metre of the floor has the same density and hydration level.
The Timeline:
- Foot Traffic – Ready in 2 to 4 hours.
- Full Site Handover – The floor is generally ready for the next trade to begin their install in 24 to 48 hours, keeping your project on track.
Site Requirements - Power, Water, and Perimeter Control
The m-tec 330 pump is a high-performance tool, but it still relies on your site being prepped to a professional standard. To beat the cure, we need a controlled environment from the second we hook up.
- 3-Phase Power – We require a live, tested 3-phase connection. Make sure this is accessible from where the pump will be parked.
- 3/4″ Water Feed – High volume needs high pressure. Your water source will need to deliver a consistent flow through a 3/4″ hose to keep the mix hydrated and moving.
- Containment – Thresholds are your responsibility. Install robust barriers to contain the pour. We manage the pipe and placement; you manage the perimeter.
- Clean & Primed – A successful floor starts with a clean substrate. Sweep it, vacuum it, and prime it. Any debris left behind will compromise the final finish.
Expected Pour Speeds:
- Residential (approx. 50m²) – We’ll be off the floor in under an hour.
- Large Domestic (approx. 150m²) – Expect a 2-hour pour window once the pump is live.
- Small Commercial (approx. 300m²) – We can usually wrap the pour in a half-day session.
Staying Live - How We Manage m-tec 330 Performance on Site
However good the pump, site variables can mess with its performance. We stay ahead of the machine to protect your floor.
- Thinning Mix – A sudden drop in viscosity usually means a blockage in the dry-feed hopper. If this happens, we stop the flow, clear the bridge, and recalibrate the water intake to ensure the wet edge stays consistent.
- Stator Wear – If the flow rate drops despite high RPMs, the stator (the pump’s ‘engine’) is most likely to be the problem. We carry spares on the van. Replacing a stator takes 20 minutes; trying to finish a pour with a failing one ruins a floor.
- Air Pockets – If the hose kicks, it’s because air has entered the line. This usually happens during priming. Should this occur, we bleed the system at the nozzle to get a monolithic, bubble-free pour from start to finish.
A Precision Pour For Your Site
A flawless floor doesn’t happen by accident; it’s the outcome of the high-speed pumping and two decades of screeding experience.
